Go Padres!

We went to a Padres Game against the Nationals on Tuesday night with Steffen and Bianca, two German exchange students from Ken's lab. We had a lot of fun explaining the game and seeing how excited they both got. The Padres won 4-2 and even got two home runs in the bottom of the seventh! It was a fun night.

3 day bliss!

I actually had three days off over a weekend and they conincided with Ken's days off for Memorial Day weekend, so needless to say we were pretty stoked!! We decided that we wanted to do something really fun and special since my schedule has been pretty crazy lately and we only get to see each other a couple days a week right now. Since we are on a tight budget getting ready for our future life we opted to finally use some of the free passes that I get as a benefit of working at SeaWorld. I have to say that even though I am super tired today being back at work, we had an awesome three days!!!!! Friday night we went over to Jen and Garret's and had an amazing meal with friends, it was relaxing and nice after a long week and a perfect start into our long weekend together. On Saturday we went to the San Diego Zoo with Jen and Garret and Steffen, a PhD student visiting Ken's lab from Germany for 6 weeks. We went to lunch at Albert's in the tree house and ran into Rachel, Jake, Linda and Ryan. We ran into them at the great apes where we also saw a big ape eating poo, yep, poo. It was so gross but the picture is funny! We had a ton of fun and stayed until it closed. Then we went to Balboa Park and went to the Reuben H. Fleet museum and explored all of their exhibits, playing with each scientific invention. I felt like I was on a school field trip again, it was a ton of fun. We concluded the day by seeing the Mummies movie at the IMAX, it was a long, but super fun day! The next day we hung out with Karrie, Katie and a bunch of other friends. It was fun talking and laughing and just relaxing. On our last day we went to Ken's moms' for a BBQ and it was super yummy! We had fun catching up with Barbara, Cindy and Eddie. From there we went to my parents house to say hi and were pretty exhausted by the time we ended up at my place. It was a busy weekend, but so much fun. I wish we had more time off together like that!!!!! I have some of the pictures, but will have to add more later.

Nana and Mark

Ken's mom's mom Dot (Nana to Ken) and her husband Mark are in Maui celebrating their 15th anniversary. We are excited for them, but jealous not to be in Hawaii ourselves. They live in Arizona and we are really excited that they are coming on our wedding cruise with us. Congratulations on 15 years! We love you.

5 am runs

My roommate Melody and I run Monday through Friday at 5 am. We find it is a great way to keep up with each other lives, but it is pretty painful getting up and going that early, it is just the only time that works for both of us. By the time we get done every morning we are feeling pretty good about ourselves though, so it's worth it. Here are some not so great photos of our early mornings.

Happy Mother's Day!

Ken and I made brunch at my condo for our moms today. We had a scrumptious menu of french toast, bacon and fruit salad. I was really impressed with Ken's cooking skills. He continues to impress me! Bandido also came over and I got some cute shots of him. We made picture coasters for our mom's and found funny singing Yoyo&Hoops cards for them. They are the funniest cards, if you ever want to laugh check out their website! We had a good time chatting and then looking at old pictures of Ken that Susan brought over. It was a great day. We love our moms and are so grateful for all they have done for us. We also want to wish a Happy Mother's Day to all of our friends and family that are now moms! We love you all!!

Fun times with friends

We have a lot of fun having friends over for random dinners and game nights. Here are some pictures from our latest ones. Davey and Brian, our neighbors, came over and made us dinner one night. Another night we had breakfast for dinner with Davey and Brian and our friends Katie and Karrie. We always have a good time on nights like these.

Reception favors

When I was sick we received 3 huge boxes full of favors and other goodies for our reception. Ken was a super good sport and not only took care of the sickling but helped me to put the thank you tags on the favors and get other little wedding tasks accomplished while I was in bed. There are so many little details when it comes to a wedding, fun times!

Happy Birthday Garret!!

Garret (one of Ken's best friends) had a birthday on April 13th. His cute wife Jen planned a surprise brunch cruise on the Hornblower. It was so much fun hanging out with everyone on the boat and the food was super yummy! I got some cute shots of the birthday boy and others that were on the cruise. Kyle even came down for it so that was super great to be able to hang out with him for a couple of hours. Happy birthday Garret and good job Jen planning it, we had a ton of fun!

Happy Birthday Wolf!

Ken's dad Wolf had a birthday on April 20th so we had him over for lunch and to watch the Laker's game. It was fun watching Ken and Wolf play foosball and Ken even made some birthday brownies. All in all it was a fun afternoon. Happy Birthday Wolf!!

Fun Times Registering

Ken has been so helpful with all of the wedding planning and I am really grateful for that. He even went with me one day to register even though he is so not a fan of shopping. After about 2 hours we decided that registering is more my thing. The home decor is a reflection of the woman's taste as Ken told me so I have taken on that part alone, well not really alone because I have been doing it with friends and having tons of fun. Here's a picture after Melody and I after we registered at Crate & Barrel, I am pretty clueless in the kitchen and Mel is right there with me so we got a big laugh out of scanning things that I didn't even know existed before. Mel thought it was hilarious that I scanned an ice scoop, but hey, ice is cold. Brooke and I went another day and will be going again next week. I discovered registering is super fun, even trying to explain all the fun things I put on our list to Ken. It makes me really excited to set up a home and to even start cooking, gotta use out of all those fun gadgets!

Lunch break

I met Ken for lunch yesterday and since his lab is so close to the Birch Aquarium we decided to go there. We had fun watching the kelp bed diver presentation where sharks were all over one of the divers and walked around and looked at the different fish. It is fun to see the differences between there and SeaWorld. All in all it was a really fun lunch break before I had to come in to work.

Happy Birthday Max and Happy Anniversary Mom and Dad!

I am really bad about keeping up with this, so I have a lot to back track on when I get the pictures uploaded, but I did want to send a shout out to my nephew Max. He turned one on April 27th which was also my parents 30th wedding anniversary!! I wasn't able to go to Modesto for Max's firefighter party, but the pictures from it were super cute so I wanted to post a few. Happy birthday Max! We love you and will come see you soon!

Happy Anniversary also to Mom and Dad! 30 years and still going strong! I hope Ken and I do as good as you two have over the years! We love you both!
